Vienna is finally gracing us with a litter !
Many of you will already know that our Vienna, who we really thought had become sterile, is in whelp !!! She gave us just the one pup - Krisannrio Kristmas...aka Teeko, born on Christmas day, over two years ago
She is due the first week in October and it really could be any time that week, as after spending 2 years trying to get a natural tie, with 3 different males, and AI, and examination by two fertility specialists, we decided to just let her get on with it and brought our own home bred Vadar Jnr to stay for a week.
In the past Vienna has been progesterone tested many times, to pin point her date of ovulation, it turned out to be a total waste of money, as she would not mate and tie when she was supposed to and we have never liked forced matings, we always feel that there will be a far better results if both parties are happy about the whole thing.
That's why we went for the AI, last year, but even that proved to be a total waste of money...hey ho, we love her regardless and she is a fantastic 'pack' member, but we always wished we could have Vienna pups, she is the daughter of TWO champions and is very breedworthy.
Well finally it's happened for her, I have turned many countless prospective owners down, over and over again for her pups, one lady in particular waited a year and a half for a VN baby and then God love her, she gave up and who could blame her.
Now finally it's happened and she is blooming and I mean blooming !!!
She looks fantastic, so pregnancy obviously suits her, it should be a proper litter this time too and not just a singleton, the scan looked good, babies developing very well and all looking good for them. Vienna has turned from a mushy dog into a pile of porridge !! She is so soppy and affectionate and wears an air of smugness, like....Look at me !!
I think I am probably more nervous about this litter than any other I've whelped, VN comes from CH Jeseuter Ivory Lace at Zakasia, a bitch who had 4 litters in her breeding time, the 1st contained just the one, the 2nd contained 3, the 3rd contained 10 and Vienna was one of them and the 4th contained 14 !!! I remember the 14 litter well as I was the one who whelped Lacey and it lasted all weekend and took me a week to recover from lol, but that litter contained Tayzee.
I am hoping Vienna does not carry on with the extremeties of numbers in the litter like her Mum did, a nice 6 happy pups would be just perfect. I don't like huge litters !!
Anyway, bookings have been taken already and the list is full for males ( until we see what she has), we still have limited bitch places available.

Oooh very exciting Ann. Just think, you already have a litter of 12 what's a couple more to make 14 for Vienna? It could be a record litter, but six or so would be perfect. Aspen was one of 5 which is a nice number too. Sounds fantastic however many she has, and I am sure everyone including me will be looking forward to hearing how she is progressing as time goes on. What a star she is xxx

EEk Ok Tony, bit early but I am now getting enquiries for bitches for this litter also, so it's about time I posted a puppy list, then it's set in stone lol, we are not intending to keep from this litter so all choices will be true and we are not reserving the right of first pick on either sex like we did with Laska's. (ps you are not the one I need to get sorted, I am swerving them as they messed us all about with Laska's and have shown little interest in this litter, so am about to hit 'delete' )
Males - 1st pick Kathryn
2nd pick Tony

Ooh 1st pick thats great, cant wait. What age do you start the picking of the puppies?

Re: Vienna is finally gracing us with a litter !
The 'picking' visit is made when the pups are 4 weeks old, no point before this really, as it's not until they are four week that you can tell personality etc and even 4 weeks is a bit young, but peeps with pups booked can't hang on any longer than 4 weeks, they chomp at the bit to get down here lol xx

All fine and dandy
Vienna is blooming, and has got a blooming big tum tum, her appetite has gone bonkers, she would eat and eat and eat if allowed, not long to go now either, maybe a little over 2 weeks....I must be mad !! xx

Re: Vienna is finally gracing us with a litter !
Welcome John, I will add your name to Vienna's list, then that is it, until we see what she produces, hopefully there will be 3 males, you will have 3rd pick. As you may notcie, we have other girls we are just waiting to come into season, it's all gone a bit bonkers here at the moment, we seem to be in the middle of a puppyfest lol, all my girls going down like dominoes So if there isn't 3 males in Vienna's litter, then you would go to the top of the list ( depending on what Chris decides on) for either girl.
Don't worry about being new to forums, there are loads of newbies on here, they are all learning together and will soon be experts
We have a chat night organised for the Monday after this present litter go to their new homes, which is the 26th October at 8pm. All you have to do if you want to join in is register with the chat box at the top of the home page and then log in when you want to chat :-)
It will be interesting for the new pup owners to share their settling in stories and it would also be good for you to see how they are all getting on, you will know what you are in for xx

Re: Vienna is finally gracing us with a litter !
Thank you very much Ann, you have just made my day! I will start my finger crossing and prayers now then for 3 boys haha!
I am on a 24 hour shift in work on that Monday, which is typical, but i will try my best to get involved. It will be very interesting!
Do you roughly know on dates for puppy picking or visits by any chance? By the way Ann, you should see the permanent smile on my face!

Re: Vienna is finally gracing us with a litter !
We usually invite puppy owners to view the pups and make their picks over the course of the weekend after
they turn 4 weeks, nothing much to see before that point, so very, very roughly, I reckon Vienna's lot will be getting their visits from the beginning of November, then again very roughly they will depart end of November. xx
Glad you are so pleased, Vienna is a lovely girl and this litter has been longed for, for years !! lol

Re: Vienna is finally gracing us with a litter !
delighted you are getting on with the forum, it should be a very helpful place for puppy owners in time, I still have so much to add to it yet though, including tons more pup owners from previous litters.
Vienna is lapping up all the attention at the moment and it's quite odd seeing her with a fat belly !! I keep having to remind everybody she is very close to her whelp as she is still bouncing round like a puppy xx
